A person’s physical environment does not only heavily influence
                one’s decisions,
but in a larger sense, shapes one’s identity. The cumulative
                identity of many
individuals in a particular place, in turn, shapes our culture.
                Homes, buildings,
neighborhoods and societies are created by designers, architects,
                and
developers working towards particular goals and with varied agendas.
                In one
sense, the belief systems of these individuals, for better or
                worse, may shape the
belief systems of those who live and work in an environment. Analyzing
                the
connection between a person and his or her environment reveals
                how sensitive,
thoughtful building and community design can ultimately result
                in a stronger
                society.
