I am the statistician of my life, the pseudo-scientist seeking to comprehend the nature of its subject. Collecting data, studying the objective, wondering how it could accurately inform one as to the true nature of living. Temperatures, distances, geography, all from my own life, yet how would it or I be different in another place? If the factors change, do I? The stock market goes down a percentage of a percentage, the unemployment rate goes up the same, there is a 20% chance of rain tomorrow and a 13% chance I will get breast cancer. We must continue to quantify, quantify, quantify; then we will know, and through this knowledge we will have control. We will determine the future. But we won't understand anything any better and I don't understand anything any more.
